@k.smudge: If you see the duck, what's a crazy thing you've been told by a doctor? I still can't believe he was so set on my #haircut being the problem 🤣 #storytime #pixiecut #shoulders #bones #doctor #fyp #foryoupage

I would've been a little petty and taken the x-ray to the first doctor, and tell him the next time he thinks about doing something similar to someone else, he should also think about retirement.

I got told I was faking having knee issues, including my knee cap slipping out of place. after 2 years got it checked at a different hospital - turns out I was born without the main ligament that helps to keep the knee cap in place Also was told I was faking my migraines, another dr said they were teenage migraines I would grow out of. 15 years later I was diagnosed with chronic migraines my husband has many stories along these lines too

I have neck ribs! 😂 They are obviously not full sized 😂 I have an accessory bone in my foot (extra bone), bone spurs where I haven't heard of people having them, a rib that's slips out of place and clicks, I can pop my clavicle (apparently you shouldn't be able to??), lesions on my brain (mri techs say it's MS, drs refuse to diagnose), and just had my uterus removed which had severely textured insides due to adenomyosis which was bad enough it was imaged on an mri (extremely rare to see on imaging)....plus a myriad of back injury related nonsense. I feel ya on being a mutant, but I love the rarities

Not quite sure it fits but when I was diagnosed with Asperger’s the Dr said to my parents and this is a direct quote “He either has Asperger’s syndrome or he’s faking it” keeping in mind he said the last bit with extra pissiness. Like how in the nine hells would I know how to fake Asperger’s. Cold? Sure. Maybe the flu. But this is a mental disorder my dude. One I hadn’t even heard of until just that minute.

Wasn’t me but my mom …… so her doctor told her that having a period 3 weeks long and only one week off of bleeding was normal and was the start of menopause my mom laughed at their face and saw a different one (btw my mom at the time was 32) the new doctor checks her out and says ya looks like you got a uterus full of tumors and it’s having issues pushing all that out she’s asks for a hysterectomy they said they wouldn’t do that because my mom was too young even though her tubes were tied she was like fine whatever what will we do to fix it they went in and cut them out THIS MADE IT WORST AND THE DOCTOR WAS STILL NOT WANTING TO REMOVE MY MOM UTERUS so my mom goes to a new doctor and this doctor literally cried for my mom and got her a hysterectomy asap by the time my mom got this surgery she was 38 years old my mom is now 45 😋

I had a vet tell me my cat has diabetes and only gave me 2 choices, insulin (which if you don't know is $130) or euthanasia, I had to bring up putting him up for adoption if I couldn't afford the insulin. Luckily that cat still lives and is a patience big brother.

I was having pain that I thought was related to a very serious surgery I had, the doctor diagnosed me with fibromyalgia without running any imaging tests at all! later he asked who diagnosed me with fibro! but still did nothing. 10 years post-op I was told the fusion in my neck did NOT fuse and that's why I was in severe pain 🫠 it's fixed now

Mine was/is gastroparesis. I had one doctor tell me I couldn't eat spaghetti anymore, because that was the last thing I had thrown up after eating. When I told her it wasn't spaghetti, since I vomited multiple times a day for years, she responded with, "I know you're 15 and think you know everything..." She didn't get to finish the sentence before I fired her. Since my diagnosis, I've had one GI tell me, "It couldn't be that, because you'd have outgrown it by now," (It doesn't work like that.), and one primary simply respond with, "Who told you that?" like I had self-diagnosed or something. Sadly, some folks don't like their assumptions questioned.

I’m diagnosed with epilepsy… have been for 3ish years now (the dr that diagnosed me thinks I had it longer but it was missed as my main form of seizures are absence seizures) but I recently had to change drs cause I lost my old insurance and the new neurologist seems to think that all epileptics are the same and thus since I don’t fit her mold I must not have it 🤦‍♀️- yes she in fact told me that she didn’t believe I had epilepsy and yes I am looking for a different dr… again… 😮‍💨

too many stories to tell. first one was I was faking back pain as a toddler cause my dad had back issues. now they say it's too late to do anything about yay. favorite is ur allergic to ur steering wheel then got mad when I saw a dermatologist who confirmed eczema. most recent no I won't refer you for tests/ neurologist another doctor asked for due to increasing daily migraines and dizziness even just looking down. "no your stable" I'm at a doc office not an er. do u think u have pots? no not really it doesn't fit but it the doc. "u probably have pots wear compression socks" pulls pant leg up showing compression socks " go get new ones. u don't want to do a tilt table test a non invasive first line for pots? nope. it was medication her office put me on for regurgitating while asleep causing respiratory infections. they had doubled the normal dose twice. which was caused by a medication for the migraines.... anyone know any good doctors. I'm so tired of this.

A doctor told me that I couldn’t possibly be in as much pain as I said that I was I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome I can dislocate and relocate my joints as I please, so I dislocated both of my shoulders and popped them back in their sockets with no reaction, the doctor called me crazy and said that there must be something wrong with me to be able to deal with that

My sister was in immense pain in high school. ER doctors told her she had an std. She told them 3 times she wasn't doing anything with anyone. They figured it out as she started to go septic because her appendix had exploded.
