They forgot it, and gave you the task to not have the responsibility. As an adult I take chicken filets from the freezer and put it in the fridge the morning of, perfectly defrosted by dinner time

They could take it out of the freezer and put in inside the fridge,that’s how it’s supposed to defrost according to WHO anyways,takes around 10-16 hours depending on the temperature of the fridge,could very well put it inside the fridge the night before

Because after getting up an hour an a half before they had to leave, they had to help Jenny find the off white sweater (and not the semi-white one), and then finish loading the dishwasher, take out the trash, fight with Chandler that he can’t wear swim shoes to preschool, make sure everyone has lunches, and then take a quick 15-20 minutes to get dressed, sign off everyone’s book logs, refill Bobby’s thermos cuz he gave the dogs something to drink, throw down a towel and wipe of the floor, and then get everyone into the car trying to beat the school bell.

For all of you not in the know - Thaw your chicken in the fridge (takes between 6-24h depending on the size) or in a cold bath (water changed every 30-40 minutes, or under running water, takes about 1-3h depending). Microwave is also an option. NEVER on the counter.

Some parents legitimately forgot. Others were trying to teach some sort of responsibility. Others just did it because they knew the kids weren't listening & they were trying to teach them to listen.And some did it because they were control freaks.

Bc they’re tired from cleaning the house. Picking up after y’all, stopping siblings from arguing, having to be a partner, working real jobs and racing to pick y’all up. Being a parent is the time when they are the most unhappy. Just take out the chicken. It’s not much.
