Rhys is also OBSESSED with Tamlin. Obsessed with getting revenge on Tamlin and making sure he is unhappy. The entire curse has a clear through line to making Tamlin suffer. Why would she, wanting Tamlin at her side, demand he fall in love with another person to break the curse? Rhys never forgave Tamlin for what he believes Tamlin did to his mom and sister, so it feels very specific to make Tamlin fall in love and then steal that love away or dispose of that love, make Tamlin hurt to lose a loved one or the alternative making Tamlin be with the woman who has wanted to prey on him since he was a child… Then he gets Feyre under his control and turns her on Tamlin, uses the woman he loves to destroy him while simultaneously opening up Prythian to Hybern…

But then the nightmares he had would make any sens…I agree that Rhysand still has a lot to hide. He's a manipulator, has a hidden agenda, has connections to Valg, Maeve, etc., but I have the impression that the fandom twists every situation with him to portray him as a mega-villain. Of course, we only have his words, but he said that Amaranta's defenses were too good for him to control her. Okay, we don't know who was responsible for killing the children at the Winter Court, but I think the fandom's interpretation is really going too far. Interestingly, Aelin (despite lacking mind powers) is also quite a schemer and manipulator, yet she doesn't get such critical praise from the fandom.

Yup!! During the HL mtg, Tamlin actually accuses Rhysand of knowing about the attack on Velaris ahead of time. he says that while Rhysand claims he was attacked, they made off remarkably well as if they been anticipating it. He says Rhysand would be willing to lose a few buildings and lesser fae to lure the other HLs into thinking they all had a common enemy, and to lure them into an alliance with him.

The breakdown of Feyre and Tamlins relationship is very interesting as well. The way he teaches her to read, after telling her how she probably can’t keep him out of her mind..interesting. And Tamlin is always so quick to let Feyre go when Rhys comes. Idk. OMG. Doesn’t Tamlin have a STONE HEART.

And everyone just conveniently forgets that for yeeeeeears before UTM he was the dictator of an apartheid state, and imprisons people in a concentration camp (Hewn City). Having personally experienced the horror that UTM was, does he develope any kind of empathy and let the people of Hewn City go free? Nope. In fact, he actively attempts to keep them out of Velaris even after they helped in the war. Sounds like a real nice guy. Additionally, he literally tells Feyre the NC had to let the humans go because they couldn't be kept under mind control, insinuating that the fae could? So he can control a NC sized population, but can't mind control a bunch of the people UTM to facilitate a mutiny? Right. It is giving TOG, where "Duke Perrington" is second to the King, but is actually Erawan and is controlling the king the ENTIRE time.
