@moonlit_kit: If I have to have an early morning for whatever reason, I have to be prepared to be flared up for the rest of the day. Even if I got a full 8 hours of sleep, for some reason that doesn’t help any 😖 #chronicillness #chronicallyill #chronicillnessawareness #disability #disabled #disabilityawareness #earlymorning
I literally cannot function in the morning. 10 is early for me, and my usual wake up is 1130-1230. between insomnia, needing an insane amount of sleep, and not being able to sleep until at least midnight... mornings are a no. sometimes I have to make Dr appts weeks after what is the earliest availability because the only availability is in the morning

The “8 hours of sleep” theory was based on men. Neurotypical women need about 9-10 hours. 😬

I work in my office one day a week, it requires a 5am alarm and it is the worst day of the week, no matter what else happens! Early mornings are THE DEVIL

How do you deal with the guilt? It’s so hard for me to acknowledge that my symptoms are bad until I can’t see straight or think straight. I feel so bad for letting everyone down by not being able to do the most basic things

YES! I cannot sleep before 12am and if I wake up before 10am the rest of the day I'm not gonna be doing much and it is very frustrating when my family who all wake up super early try to make plans for before 10am and I have to explain for the 10000th time that I can't do that and just get the "c'mon it's not THAT early just go to sleep earlier!"

My joints hate me today. Had to help my dad massage out his hip because it locked up on him. My wrists and shoulders are very unhappy about the work they had to do last night. 😭

Completely. I wake up and just “feel sick.” When I was younger, I didn’t understand it, but my dysautonomia will be severe.

I was always a morning person before chronic illness... but my sleep is so dis-regulated and now I have a hard time waking up early. I feel best in the afternoons.

Same. Bad Headache and major brain fog, and for some strange reason a delivery guy knocked on my door at 8am with someone else's food shop. Some sort of mix up. It was so confusing.

I feel this to my core. 😭 I have the exact same morning schedule as you and I started a temp job starting at 9am and oh my god that was a painful transition. I’ve mostly transitioned but I’m still not doing the best. 😩 My body wants to revert back to my standard schedule so bad

This is so validating, I always felt behind or lazy when I struggle so hard to wake up before 10am or even function before noon but it’s so nice to know it’s other peoples normals as well

I’m curious how late you go to bed. I was never a morning person but I had a baby in 2017 and he tested my idea of what sleep deprived feels like. Now I tend to find I have more energy first thing than in the afternoon. Most days I have to nap to feel up to making dinner and walking to school and back in the afternoon to collect my son. But I sleep better now than I ever did prior to having a child.

I'm usually really nauseous in the mornings or even throwing up until hours later...they didn't stop asking about pregnancy after my hysterectomy...

As my symptoms flare, I am less able to function in the morning. It’s so hard to explain without sounding like a whiny over dramatic delicate princess. But I remember when it was different. I know the difference
