I have booked many places through expedia and booking and always choose my room with no issue. And my room is cheaper.

Not only all of what you said but I’ve used third party sites and something massively wrong with room (mold, leaking water from wall etc) I’ve been told there’s nothing they can do because it was booked via 3rd party site and they won’t refund or change room.

I have been booking with Priceline for 20 years. It’s sometimes half the price of booking direct AND the one time they didn’t have our room available, they gave us the penthouse with our own doorbell to fix the mistake.

My wife and I had that experience a few months ago... we visited Las Vegas and stayed at the Strat and we booked the room through Expedia. The picture on their site showed an upgraded room. When we got to our room it looked like Frank Sinatra died in there... NEVER AGAIN 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Actually you need to check like 5 portals every hour to see the request so most of the time we don't see them and they have been extremely misleading people this summer

Yup. I made this mistake once. I had discovered a bedbug in the room and didn’t even stay the night and had a heck of a time getting a refund.

im a travel agent and 60 percent of hotel bookings are through Expedia, it's usually cheaper and I've yet to have an issue

Booked a hotel with Priceline and got directions from their map to get there. Directions ended in a highway. Drove around the damn hotel didnt even exist. WTF. Now I go to the site or use Hilton.

If you’re just doing a hotel definitely compare prices and go through the actual hotel site. HOWEVER, I’ve noticed combos of hotel, flight, and car are ALWAYS cheaper bundling with Expedia. Only downside is you can’t do multiple hotels in case you’re road tripping

I just booked a weekend vacation and it was 60 dollars cheaper per night with expedia then the hotel itself. Hotel gave 2 cocktails as a bonus but considering that's a 120 dollar difference I rather go thru expedia and order my own cocktails 🤣
