Cambodia urgently calls on the international community to condemn war crimes committed by Thai forces, including the use of chemical weapons and cluster munitions against civilians, hospitals, civilian infrastructures, religious temples and cultural sites.
Furthermore, just a view hours of the KL ceasefire, Thai army violated again by arresting 20 Cambodian soldiers (and shooting two to the ground, still unknown whether they were dead or alive) under the pretext of asking to shake hands and take a picture with them. Thailand's actions violated the KL ceasefire and the international law, the 1949 Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War. Cambodia must gather evidence to convict Thailand of war crimes. These crimes are not allegations — they are verified violations of international law. Thousands of lives are at risk, and Cambodian people need protection, medical aid, and global solidarity. We are asking journalists, humanitarian organizations, and world leaders to speak out, investigate in order to release the 20 Khmer POW soldiers unconditionally, and act before more lives would be lost.
