I don’t blame parents at all for grieving. I was diagnosed at 16 and it was a relief and shock to my parents.

My grief was knowing that my child will struggle for the rest of their life. That they’ll have to exist in a cruel world that does not adapt well to people who are different.

I knew my dad grieved that life I wasn't going to have, I did too. I've watched my peers do everything I've wanted to; have relationships, get degrees, have careers, get married, have kids, celebrate holidays with family, go on vacations.. and now grandchildren. I've tried to live as fully as I can, but I see what I'm missing..
