To me it started in 2016 when it comes to the US. First time Trump was on the political radar and me consuming all the late night shows about it to cope with Trump supporters. Mind you I wrote my thesis about Star Wars around that time too and lived with trumpies (unplanned!!! Just couldn‘t afford to book sth else) iN 2018. i‘m German and in Germany but so concerned for y‘all. Much love and safety!!!! ❤️

i honestly feel like since trump became president the first time, white people realized they have the potential to become the “ruling class” again. trump made middle class white people think that if we start putting down people of color, it’ll uplift the fellow white man. and it doesn’t, but they will try it anyway. white people realized it’s a lot more self serving to be racist than it is to not be racist. being “woke” is work for them and they’d rather not do the work.
