I definitely can relate. When you have children so young…there is no handbook to parenting as a child (sort of). We can only strive to do the best we can with what we were taught/given and hold ourselves accountable and grow and do better.

We all have trauma. It just depends on how you handle it. I’m going through things right now with one of my adult kids. We went to counseling and I am so glad we did. I now know it’s not me but I’m the one he chooses to blame. I now am giving him his space and time to figure it out.

Yelling and normal life circumstances aren’t trauma this is why these kids feel everything so visceral and it’s called life. Ik all too well about how kids turn out 12 years of private school never taking the bus, never living in public housing but my girls are mad at me because they can’t relate to the struggle.

Let’s normalize holding the kids accountable - that’s it. There is no perfect parent and I don’t want to hear that traumatized stuff because others have had it worse. You did right by how you handled it because I would’ve told mines to come fight me. & Gave her some real trauma to think about. So you get a gold star in my book.

These folks were telling off on themselves and deflecting. People holler that parents need to take accountability but when they find a parent that does take accountability these folks still don’t be happy. These people be envious is all because someone still hasn’t taken accountability for how they messed them up.
