There’s literally nothing wrong with him self-hosting an AI LLM. He’s not impacting the environment in any meaningful way by doing so. His whole AI thing is just for goofing around — coming up with absurd ideas, not replacing himself or anyone else on his team. AI has gotten way more environmentally friendly since the GPT-3 days. A great example is LLaMA 3: it was trained using renewable energy, and its carbon footprint is largely neutral. Generating a 250-word passage with LLaMA 3-65B uses just 0.00037 kWh — that's less than a light bulb running for 15 seconds (source: computer.org). Him using AI to write a silly movie idea with his chat isn’t harming anyone, and it doesn’t make him any less of a content creator. He’s clearly just experimenting with a funny concept — not trying to replace people. and hes not actually pitching the movie to be made.

Half of his video DougDoug is making fun of ai and is using a ai bot he wrote to read the messages from chat to form the questions so that he isn’t spending a forever reading chat. There are times where his chat is so active it creates pages of discussion within a few seconds. DougDoug also shows often, how the ai he uses fails and falls apart, just look at the pajama Sam video and how many times he had to restart that ai. His videos purposely shows how bad ai actually is
