For the serious answer, it’s because of cafe standards imposed by the government. They used to be more durable but to meet high mileage requirements the cars have to be lighter. Hence all of the plastic and aluminum.

So when you drive, you drive with a certain speed. This speed is a form of energy. When you collide, your ‘velocity energy’ suddenly decreases to zero. This is done by a force acting on the car over a certain distance, by a wall for example. The longer the path/duration of this force, the more that energy is spread out over that distance. Which means with a longer path, there’s less force needed to change the same amount of energy. Less force means less intense experience and less injury.

🤣 But for real! she has a point right there. the way they build cars today is to make sure you spend a lot of money at the garage, MOT and insurance DO NOT repair but right off your car... For a reason. there is more plastic on a car than metal! the car protect you but is not strong enough to sustain any collisions, FACT! 🤣🤔🤣

cars used to be durable and could hit things, but people were turning into to milkshakes on the inside during collisions of 35mph and above. so they made cars softer inside and out to save lives and make them lighter. Now You Know.
