Well. It is a authoritarian move. However, its war and russia is trying and infiltrating ukraine on every level. Maybe its just a wartime move? Remains to be seen. Could be bad.

Ok, long story short: NABU was created by US request and was controlled by US advisors. Once Trump went into office and administration started talking about Ukrainian corruption, NABU investigators came to several Zelensky key associates. As a desperate measure Zelensky decided to bite the hand feeding him and practically destroy NABU. Now you see the first sign of what happens when you FA with uncle Joe. Seems that we are going to see another "revolution" in Ukraine. You know, free people gathering together, babushkas making tea and pies to feed them, no US funding and CIA involved, no don't even think about it.

thousands of people have gathered in the capital Kiev and other Ukrainian cities such as Lviv, Odessa and Dnipro to oppose the measures promoted by President Volodymyr Zelensky to control anti-corruption agencies, in what is seen as an authoritarian drift by the Ukrainian president himself, who has received international criticism from various analysts for his government's handling of the situation in recent months. Among the slogans against Zelensky were ‘Corruption equals death’ and ‘Shame,’ in what have been the first significant protests against the Ukrainian government.

First of all it’s temporary. Second of all there is corruption in the anti corruption offices . This needs to be done.

The Ukrainian president signed a controversial law restricting the independence of the main anti-corruption bodies: the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, conferring the supervision and control of these independent bodies to the Prosecutor General's Office, which is dependent on the Ukrainian government.
. In June, Volodymyr Zelensky personally appointed Ruslan Kravchenko, a figure close to the Ukrainian president, to head the Prosecutor General's Office. ‘Loyalty to the current administration has been the key requirement for prosecutors general in Ukraine,’ according to The Kyiv Independent, showing that there are people close to Zelensky who are taking charge of matters that may be sensitive.

One of Russia’s biggest talking points and all the Russian assets keep claiming as Ukraine is corrupt and they’re trying to help the people so the passing of this bill really just reinforces their narrative
