In our experience no. He goes straight to his duty station. My husband finished AIT and came straight to his duty station. His leadership gave him leave though to move us out to him.

& also if you do go home , yes they pay for your plane ticket home but you do have to buy your plane ticket to your duty station , which that will reimburse you the money once you get to your duty station & start your in processing .

I’m sure mine has 2 weeks of leave after he graduates ait before he has to report to his duty station, but ig its different?

if you are active duty , once you get to ait they will ask you if you want to do hrap ( basically at home recruiting for 2 weeks but you aren’t really doing anything unless your recruiter needs you ) . if you decide to do hrap then you will be able to go home for 2 weeks . that’s the only way you are able to go home after ait unless you have a report date to your duty station that is far out . so say you graduate ait september 1st & your report date for your duty station is november 17th . then you are able to go home until it’s time for you to report . other than that you have to go straight to your duty station after ait .
