@little_jessx: THINGS PEOPLE SAY ABOUT MY NAN… and what I wish they knew ‼️❤️🩹 •••• #de#dementiae#dementiaawarenesse#dementiacarera#caregivera#caregiveruke#dementiacaregiverl#alzheimersl#alzheimersawarenessl#alzheimersdiseasea#vasculardemential#alzheimerscaregivera#carehomeuka#familycaregiveri#littlejessittlejessandnan
My grandma would always say "if I lose my mind kill me"...she got dementia and of course we couldn't do what she asked for. Like you said, you just have to keep showing up for them. My grandma passed away after having dementia for 4 years. I feel lucky she passed before she forgot who I was but it was still the hardest thing to go through. You're doing an amazing job with your Nan ❤️

Being a caregiver is incredibly difficult. Physically, mentally, emotionally. Here in the US, there is no support. Most of the time the family aren’t qualified to handle everything that comes with it. The guilt is devastating. People should keep their judgments to themselves. I hope they never learn the reality of caregiving.

Another valid point people don’t think of - your Nan wouldn’t want you and family giving up your lives to care for her 24/7, she’d want you to live your life. She obviously loved you all, she wouldn’t want that xx

I don’t think her knowing if “you’re” there matters at all. It’s the comfort of her having someone who love her and makes her feel safe. You’re amazing Jess! You’re everything I wanted to be for my grandad ❤️

It’s so easy for these keyboard warriors to make really insensitive comments, probably never having been through what you and your family are dealing with. Bless you for feeling the need to defend yourself, but you clearly have an infinite amount of love for your nan

Lost both my dads to dementia. The dad that raised me and the dad that ended up relying on me to help him as the disease progressed. Had to mourn twice.

My Nan had dementia for nearly 20 years and for the last 5-10 years she might as well not have been to be perfectly honestly for how present she was.

Just wanted to say this video and your other videos really does hit home. As my Nan Had dementia. Sadly She passed away from COVID but before COVID I did think if she got worse would she still remember me or my mum. She lived with us before she went into a home. But my mum cared for her pretty much her whole life. I saw my mum finding it hard. It’s not easy. I just wanted to say that I’m so glad you have chosen to share this as it’s made so many more people aware of it. And even if it’s helped jsut one person you should feel proud. Thank you for spreading awareness. As this does need to be spoken about more. So it can help so many more family’s. It feels like my nans still with me every time I watch your content so thank you.
