I enjoyed the idea that new Ma and Pa are just normal people, with no big expectations of Clark. They're happy to see him grow up and be his own person, and proud that that person is Superman. It's the idea that anyone can raise "Superman" if you just love your kid unconditionally.

Pa Kent comments about Clark should visit once in a while. I guess I coupled that with the video of his bio-parents he never knew being what gave him comfort, that it made me feel like this Superman didnt care as much about his adoptive parents — Im not really sure what else I was to make of it, since he’s Superman and can be there in a literal minute.

The only problem with that is those scenes are very different, one is a scene of a child Clark finding out he's an alien with that breakdown of how he sees himself with his family. The New movie doesn't cover that scene and the scene between John and Clark is more about reinforcing to Clark that everything he is and has done is not a representation of what his parents wanted but as who he is and how he should be proud that despite everything he was supposed to do, he still CHOSE to be Superman and do good.
