The sound of a Menhir 🪨 During my stay in Brittany, I stopped at several megalithic sites, like the Kerzerho alignments. I tried recording sounds by placing my microphones on these megaliths but I couldn’t capture anything clear. Later, in Quiberon, I spotted a few isolated menhirs scattered across the landscape. It was a very windy day, so I attempted another recording. I placed a geophone at the base of one of the menhirs and a contact microphone a little higher on the stone. This time, it worked: I was able to capture something interesting, which you can hear in the video. Without those weather conditions, I probably wouldn’t have recorded anything. These kinds of vibrations give a mysterious resonance to these stones, standing here for thousands of years. #nature #sound #science #fyp #pourtoi
