also not all autistic children/adults line things up. I think people put too much emphasis on the 'typical' autistic traits.

Was playing with my barbies and barbie house all the time! Building it up, organising the furniture, sitting barbie in the chair then putting everything away neatly.

Markers had to be in order of the rainbow. Stuffies took turns on the bed b/c I couldn’t fit them all and I felt bad for the ones that couldn’t be on it. Tin full of rocks I collected…🧐

my undiagnosed self is feeling so validated by my bookshelf my entire life. Very specificly arranged. but no I just have ADHD... I think it's more than just ADHD 😂

Literally the reason my daughter is still waiting for a diagnosis. Because she plays in a typical way for a girl 🙄 Yh seems really normal for a 3 year old to tidy up the toys and line up our food and teddies.

late dx at age 48, 9 months after ADHD dx. I dont recall selecting specific items and lining them up, but always remember that there had to be symmetry with absolutley everything around me. the anxiety I felt when that symmetry wasn't there was awful. still is. And the frustration I would feel when someone would mess up the order 😫

when you consider that neurodivergency is genetic.. I look at my father's meticulously organized music collection, and my mom's ability to find a specific book in her unorganized pile! adhd+autism

Books for my girl. She haz boxsets of books with the content on the box. She lines them up and arranges them in perfect order according the the list on the boxes. Also, collecting and lining up small character figures. Dolls house too - she doesn't play families or scenarios.... she just takes all the furniture out and then puts it all back in neatly. To the outside world, she playing 'typically' but those who are aware, see the repetition and organisation. I am glad that I am autistic myself. I had her assessed and diagnosed just after her 3rd birthday.

I used to pile up my mums coin bowl. there were hundreds of tiny cent coins. I would do it whenever I was stressed. no one picked the xlue, ever. apparently I just liked to count, how smart.

I have 3 adult children and 1 moving up to college ,3 have asd and 1 with aspergers eldest daughter diagnosed at 14 and next daughter diagnosed at 3 and som diagnosed at 3 ,and the youngest diagnosed at 5 all are different

I put cups on the shelves in a specific way and rearrange them if my husband does it in a different way. that's my version of lining up cars 😆 (diagnosed at 40)

I didn't think I did this until someone brought up stuffed animals. I had all my stuffed animals lined up on my bed. I had a lot and it took up half my bed

Barbies. I would take them all out, change their outfits, line them up, put them back away. I did this for YEARS 😆

as I child when I got a new box of crayons I could NOT use them until I dumped them out and put them in rainbow order. ie line them up 👍
