I used to work on the L10. I always have fun telling people that the first time I flew to Europe, it was in the belly of the plane. haha. I was working the galley and it was down in the belly. oh the quizzical looks I get🤣

Flew Delta and Eastern out of Atlanta in the late 70’s and got to fly the L1011 many a time. When you took a red eye back from LA you could usually get an entire row of middle seats and get a great night’s sleep. So much better than the horrible DC8 or 727.

YEP. IT WAS THE PRIDE OF OUR FLEET. PILOTS LOVED IT, AND PASSENGERS RAVED ABOUT IT. THE L1011,WAS ONE OF THE BEST AIRCRAFT EVER BUILT. THE DC-10, NOT SO MUCH.

Smooth ride and travel from LAX to Hawaii in early 2000. Had fam work on the L1011 development when they worked for Lockheed.

I flew it as a kid in the final days of ATA still being in business. Flew to Hawaii on it and even though it was pretty old for the time, it was a pretty cool experience

Flew on one once in the waning days of Eastern. Had been a beautiful plane once, but it looked dingy and smelled of cigarettes and spilled drinks. The plane was not crowded. The stewardess seemed tired, but she was very nice and we chatted for quite a while.

I went with Henry Kissinger & Lockheed big shots to deliver the Saudi kings Sky Palace L10-11 ✈️When I was 14 years old I Befriended Osama Bin Laden at the Reception party & am the window he slithered thru to get into the CIA 🙄 I have been Falsely Imprisoned for the last 25 years to keep me from telling people this fact

I flew one once on Delta from DFW to Orlando in 1997. I was way in the back and it was curved enough that the seats didn’t line up between rows. Even then, the plane seemed super old!

One of the best plane ever made. Flew on it many times as a kid. Got to fuel one when I was a fueler and it was very crazy to fuel. So many tanks and specific ways that each tank needed to be be fueled. I miss the L1011. 😢

It was a fun plane and my first wide body flight. Flew them several times between Atlanta and Tampa or Orlando on Delta as a kid
