I swear to you as a women I was pushed SEVERAL times away from Islam by men, even tho I am born Muslim, I almost left completely if it wasn’t for Allah’s mercy, alhamdulilah I stopped listening to them a long time ago.

Honestly there were years where I became agnostic because the spaces I was in filtered the parts of religion that fit the patriarchal narrative and humbled women and if you questioned any of it, both men and women converge on you for your wrong opinions. It was hell and made me question my faith. But the past few years I have been erasing the cultural narratives and avoiding spaces that will shame me for wanting to learn the religion properly and I am in a much better place in my faith than I was back then. I am still not as good as I would like but I am learning and improving and I know when to just leave or not argue because you can’t change someone’s opinion when they want to “win” but not understand.

I think another important thing is when people get a high status like a shiekh or just spreading “dawah” in general they begin to abuse their “power” and make unnecessary statements that also don’t align with Islam. (Just my opinion btw)

I've come to the point since rerveting in 2006 I don't care what people think or say or do I follow the Quran, Sunna and Hadiths and if I need anything outside of that I go to someone with Knowledge not Tiktok. It's sad how people allow other people to take them away from Allah and this Deen. May Allah protect us all.

the way i deal with my dilemmas in islam and trying to do ijtihad on topics that are controversial and painfully needs re-interpritation... i simply think of a mother out there, is there a kind mother out there who would hear my dilemma then proceed to hug me, be kind, accept me regardless and wants me to keep being a good person spreading good? if the answer is yes, then i automatically apply it, because allah said himself that he is kinder on his servants than a mother is on her child.
