We do know for sure. It was instructed by every controller (Approach, Final and Tower) to 05L. The pilot failed and landed in 05R. There was low visibility in the area which contributed to the incident

yes the aeromexico pilot is at fault, he was cleared to land on 05L and he landed on 05R, the audio just got released and it’s all pilots fault

Air Mexico prob didn’t see the delta aircraft because the it was before the runway threshold (where aircraft can line up and wait and use to take off so technically the delta wasn’t even on usable runway for the air Mexico) while the air Mexico was probably looking at its landing point.
