This is so interesting. I’m from Oakland and I’m not going to reference 2025 Oakland because the town is hella gentrified but old Oakland, I don’t think we had “Black suburban” areas. You either lived in the hood or not lol. I will say the hood would be in close proximity to the burbs, like Piedmont or Monclair

I feel like Thts a really LA/Long Beach life cuz lowkey in NYC unless u in Canarsie it’s rlly all the hood but that’s the hoodburbsss. Hood adjacent is different tho like im hood adjacent cuz I wasn’t raised in the Ps but my building was right next door so I heard the shooting and its a small hood but l wasn’t IN IT
