a psychiatrist can prescribe meds, as well as your primary doc. A therapist is just to talk and get to the root cause. Those are different fields so they have different abilities to help you.

I go to therapy and I can tell you that sometimes you have to go through more then one therapist I've been to five before I got one I've stuck with.

I use my therapy notes and my own research to figure out which meds I might like- and took it to my doctor and she prescribed and sent me to a psychiatrist for them to continue to prescribe it. You need both a psychiatrist and a therapist for meds ❤️

therapist can not prescrbe anything they are not qualified to.. you will have to see a physiatrist for that or primary care doctor.
