You may need to use some clarifying shampoo to help however sauce beauty’s guacamole hair mask is so good, It really helped fix my hair from some really bad bleach damage. I get it at sallys and its not super expensive which is also nice

I have heard of hair that appears to repel water or struggle to absorb it is often due to low porosity. maybe do some research and see if any of that helps. it can be hard to figure stuff like that out. good luck

have you had your water tested? it could be the water. hard water is awful on hair.

I think it's because you're washing your hair with shampoo to often. I can only shampoo 1x a week, if I have to wash in between I use a Cleansing Conditioner for curly hair. I like to use Alba More Moister Shampoos and Conditioner. Aprox. $15 for a 32oz bottle for refular wash day.

Okay PLEASE HEAR ME OUT 😭- I will use nothing but tresemme moisture rich shampoo and conditioner bc NOTHING else works, my hair feels like straw w anything else. People have said lots of scary things about it but it is the ONLY thing that’s ever worked (and my mom is a hairstylist and has bought me the expensive products too, it just doesn’t work like tresemme 🤷♀️)

Have you tried using a clarifying shampoo? It sounds like it might not be being conditioned because there’s buildup from hard water

Question how strong is your shampoo? Because if your hair is squeaky it might be too clarifying for every wash, making your hair too dry

You may need to try a dry oil after your leave in conditioner. I personally like the L’Oréal bond repair conditioner followed by bumble and bumble invisible oil primer. I bleach and dye my hair on a regular basis. It could also be your hair texture, so maybe a hair gloss would work for you followed with moisturizer products. Also dimethacone and sulfates are not bad! I highly recommend looking at lab muffin beauty science on YouTube.

I think most manufactured stuff is actually damaging to our hair and body. That’s why nothing really works. I’d try natural stuff like apple cider vinegar and rosemary oil :) but to each their own

The packaging also says not to use a conditioner but I do and it helps. As well as a hair oil. Verb and amika hair oils work well for me. I'm trying the Krysten ess line the signature or whatever. Supposed to be a good dupe for amika the kure. Love amika the kure. Mask, shampoo, and conditioner.

Garnier Fructis “Hair Filler + Hyaluronic Moisture Repair Serum” on WET hair then Eva NYC “Mane Magic 10-in-1 primer for fine hair” on towel dried hair has worked wonderfully for my chronically dehydrated hair

Try something silicone free. Silicones can create a film in your hair that blocks water from penetrating the strands. You would have to use a clarifying shampoo to strip off the silicone and those shampoos are very drying. Curlsmith makes some great conditioners. I also have issues with conditioners. A lot of them just feel like they disappear in my hair and I can’t even run my fingers through it when it’s completely saturated. But curlsmith has several that help detangle really nicely. Also, you should look into the curly girl method. You have wavy/curly hair. It might be a good place to start.

Have you tried Redken All Soft? I have long curly hair that always need extra moisture and it works great👍
I also make home made hair masks: base is aloe vera gel + oils (jojoba, argan, rosehip, play around and find out what's best for you). Optionally add some honey, hyaluronic acid or niacinamides.

you mentioned only shampooing your scalp. have you tried shampooing the entire hair shaft ? there might be build up preventing it from actually getting moisturized, hence the rinsing right off
