@hiking_adventures: It’s been hard to try and put into words the devastating wildfire that impacted my home national park. The Grand Canyon is such a special place and the North Rim was a quieter side of this beautiful canyon. After waiting years to stay in the cabins on the north rim I finally decided to stay in one this May. My friend Emilie and I stayed in the historic cabin on the rim, ate at the beautiful dining room at the lodge, and enjoyed a magical sunrise and sunset. It’s such a special place. Then, less than six weeks later due to the Dragon Bravo fire…the lodge and cabins burned. The employee housing - gone. The North Rim visitor center, destroyed. Years of history and memories for thousands of people gone in an instant. It’s hard to put into words this loss.
