Nope. It's FAR more complicated than that. Griffith COULD be seen as a "fraud" at an angle of having this idea that [what gives a person value and makes them "someone important" in the world where human lives mean nothing is the fact that they have "a dream" that they will fight for and do everything for over everything (and everyone) else] and he himself fucking up his own chance at that by valuing his relationship with Guts over it. (The reason for his crashout essentially) It's why he hates Guts so much and blames him for everything, because the actual truth is that he loathes HIMSELF for being "weak" enough to forget his dream bc of this guy. He's a fraud, because he lies to himself about the actual perpetrator for his downfall - his own human connection to another. Oh, and the other reason I can think of as to why you could call him a fraud: His whole "dream" rhetoric is already a lie he doesn't actually believe in. He DOES absolutely see Guts as equal at that time, but isn't able to admit to himself that he doesn't see other people as below him this way anymore. Not the Band of the Hawk. Since the dream of "getting his own kingdom" has been the shining light of salvation in the dark reality they live in, he can't possibly part with that notion. Not consciously, not ever. ...GOD I love this story sm🔥

Deep down he cares about his comrades, he even save guts from zod risking his life. He didn't want to grow attached to anyone at all since he knows he will lose them in battle. And the esclip event happened because he wants to achive his dream where a kingdom where no demons cannot enter peace from all the demons and war. I am not defending griffith but calling him a fraud is just wronf in my opinion

Griffith is a fraud emotionally because he’s a very misleading character with his true intentions as person on the outside people would assume he wasn’t even if it wasn’t his original mindset after he was embarrassed by guts for leaving and being tortured altogether
