I know you said you've been reading for a while now, it its a memory issue you could create a little book, 1 page per card, with the picture of the card and any words, ideas, signs, that go with the card all around it, that way you can jog your memory at a glance. I hope you find some helpful tips! 💗

Something helpful With the cards: Wands represent the fire element. Desire, passion, energy, danger, excitement. Cups represent the water element. Emotions, relationships, feelings. Swords represent air. Logic, ideas, communication. Pentacles represent the earth. Finances, material, grounding, senses. Just a little bit ive picked up on them, good luck with the rest of it i cant figure it out either 😭😭

Memorize numbers and elements, the major arcana is pretty straight forward. When you realize what numbers mean (ex 5 being change) and the elements (ex wands being fire) the five of wands is a change of intensity of a situation, often meaning progressing towards conflict.

I mean, the meanings can vary slightly depending on the deck, which is why the guidebook in some decks is important. The Major Arcana are always consistent though

my first deck was the "meanings" deck that literally says it on the cards. but i have an old deck now from the 70s and i just take a picture and put in the google image search and if its reversed i just typebreversed meaning and it pulls it up. nobody's mad about it haha

I heard someone say that you read the card and it's picture itself, and basically forget all the original meanings. That you take the card at face value and meditate with it for a second, let THE CARD tell you what it means, or even seeing things that are synchronicities for you. I did this and it worked quite well for me, and might for you :) I too cannot remember stuff like that, with all kinds of different meanings. When I did, I was actually able to read quite well, the stuff matched up, and the main synchronicity I had in the cards was they all had a specific color (my guides) My reading was correct, and I finally started enjoying doing tarot.

Same! I’m studying them the same way I studied in college. I pull 3 cards everyday, use a highlighter to narrow down the meanings and write it in bullets points in a journal. It helps me.
