I love how “state intentions” almost always means “WTF are you doing?”

You work at BOS I’m assuming? I fly for cape air. I’ll listen for your voice next time I’m there! Which is basically every day I fly haha

Did they take the wait or did they finagle their way off 15R

Honestly, half of US ATC controllers are incomprehensible to foreign native English speakers, let alone non-native...

Does the Sid just take them out of the way or something?

Could’ve been weird pilots, but I’d imagine if they request that they’ll wait for a wind report less than 10-15 kts because they may not have a takeoff analysis or performance available for certain runways. Or ALIAS codes that may not take a particular NOTAM. Been in that situation before so just my take from the pilot perspective

No way that Lufthansa A340 gonna get airborne on 22L. Those four air dryers need all the runway they can get.

Oh cool! Do you work Boston Tower or Boston Approach? I ask cause my airline has flight that go through that airspace often. We don’t fly to BOS I think, but we can list it as an alternate if needed (& def done it before).

Probably not the case but from my experience the other runway may be longer however they might get better performance on the other one due to an obstacle or something despite the tailwind component

Been there 🫣 (at least in LAS) The perf calculations for SE are different vs US. If there are high obstacles in the front sector and our perf calculations shows red then it’s nogo. Only option is sector with low obstacles even with tailwind and long waiting time (or some passengers off)
