Just 2 days after the Shanghai temple was announced, their government called the idea of building a temple "Wishful thinking" and "not based in reality". The church removed the temple from the list of announced temples after that.

Yesterday we got news of the judge overseeing the Heber Valley Temple case deciding that no decision was made illegally, so they can proceed with constructing what is quite possibly the most controversial temple ever built!

I mean polygamy technically never went away cause men can marry more women in the temple if their partner passed away, even now that is still active so I guess the revelation is not outdated in a sense?

There is speculation that the church didn't actually get full support from the Chinese government before announcing those temples. The Lori Vallow bit is crazy.

I’ve seen apologists (like Jacob Hansen) claim the church will never endorse a candidate even with this change, however, they have the neutral stance they have DUE TO TAX IMPLICATIONS. I can 100% see them shifting to endorsing specific candidates under the new rules.
