In sweden both parents share i think 480 days of parental leave, so 240 days each, but they can transfer all the days except (i don’t remember if it’s 60 or 90 days) that you have to keep and can’t transfer to anyone else. And you can also apply for 10 days to stay home before the baby is due (if the mother) without it affecting your days, and the father can apply for 10 days to stay home with the baby after birth. The mother can start taking out her maternity leave any time as early as 60 days before due date. The first year you can choose how many days you want to take out without it affecting the amount you get paid per day, but if you want to keep your salary based in come after the baby turns 1, then you have to take out atleast 5 days a week to keep the same amount paid out per day.
