They probably plan to eliminate employers paying the portion of FICA taxes, passing that on to the employee. So instead of 6.2% you’re paying for SS, it’ll be 12.4%. Medicare will go from 1.45% to 2.9%.

As a contractor, your price= your hourly pay+all the $ that gets taken out of your check, taxes and benefits and retirement ans all. Don't go into a contract looking for 30/hr, you will need to contract for waaaay more. Understand this too

as an independent contractor, you dont need to have a schedule. you show up and do the work and leave. This can go both ways. since you will be paid in cash and given a 1099NEC, because that is how an independent contractor gets paid, you can set your own hours and there is no need to ask for PTO, you just let them know you are unable to make it on set date. my suggestion. Create a business and tell them to pay you through that business's EIN. they will be paying an entity not a worker and like so, they dont own you. 🙂 Enjoy!
