Is it because of Yemen because in Yemen, the Houthis kept shooting at aircraft and drones after years of bombing?
Or maybe it's because of the war in Ukraine as Russia has established some superiority only near the frontline to drop glide bombs with impunity?
My question is what are the other details of the report?

Ok? so back to the main question, why are they getting rid of the A-10?

Wolfe :
Not only is the A-10 a bad plane for today's warfare needs, it was always a bad plane. The original A-10 was so bad that pilots had to use binoculars to spot targets, leading to those blue on blue situations. The main rotary cannon was also the most useless weapon it had. The F-111, F-14, F-15, F-16, and F-35 are infinitely better for air-to-ground missions.

It makes sense that the USAF doesn’t see permanent air superiority being as achievable as it once was, but with this, why are they spending money on the F-15EX? It is still not stealth and with longer range anti air missiles, how would they preform and survive in a conflict in 2050?

Would this matter for USAF? I remember having achieved shooting a satellite out of space. If they did it before then would it matter now?

Yingying :
America can no longer guarantee safe skies in particular against near peer adversaries. In the near future, American and allied ground forces can not count on enemy air attacks. Also air defenses are becoming more dangerous to manned aircraft, particularly both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. Seeing the A-10 go away is sad, but the nature of warfare progresses nonetheless. Future CAS will be in the form of stand off attacks. Our troops will have to do without an aerial guardian flying above them.

If you can justify having Apache helicopters in the AOR then you can have an A-10

I know you made a video about the rods from God being impractical and with the talk of darpa in recent videos, are space based intercept missiles even feasible?

So both sides will just attack each other’s satellites at the onset of conflict right?

do we really need high end fighters anymore? we can pretty much take out anyone's aircraft from 20-30 miles out from missiles loaded on b-52's, just need an aircraft with the radar to track and target. after that you just need drones to take out ground targets. so might as well stop making manned fighters.
