This! I’ve had a lot of people be really mean to me and accuse me of being fake because I’m kind, but in reality I just refuse to let this world dim my light. I wish more people would accept kindness without thinking there’s an ulterior motive😕

I don't think it is a recent thing. Most ppl have always been mean. Being kind has always been performative to them. They don't see it as cringe. They just aren't good ppl.
