Cox goes on to say the calculation was wrong. They do have a lifespan and cannot erase information from the universe. Black holes will shrink and disappear. But in a time we cannot comprehend.

One of hawking's last works that was finished by his pupil, proved that there was something called a "soft hair" around a black hole. It records bits of the information of stuff that falls into the black hole, and that leads them to believe that there is something inside the black hole, and that this stuff goes somewhere. PS got this from the Netflix series about black holes you can check if you want.

This sound is Brian Cox talking about what was first believed about black holes. That was when people believed that hawking radiation held no information. It’s now generally accepted that hawking radiation holds information. So no, it doesn’t erase anything.

If you fell into a black hole and were able to stay alive you’d likely be able to witness a Timelapse of the rest of the life of the universe before it inevitably dies and is left empty where nothing but black holes call it home

Correct me if im wrong but what if instead of being erased the centre of the black hole is just a different dimension we cant perceive kind of like how a 2d object cant perceive up and down for them if a 3d object moved up and down it just completely disappeared(im geeked btw)

The single most baffling thing about black hole is, that you would witness the end of the entire universe, in one single fall. Before you move a single inch, a thousand years will go by. At the event horizon, the observer will see you stop in time, over long period of time, you would just slowly fade away..

Well that makes a lot of sense if you think about it, with the big bang theory everything is said to have come from nothing, so it makes sense that there is a way for everything to go back to nothing
