Explanation: -This started in 1997, there was a mother and her 4 kids. They were flying above the Amazon rainforest but then suddenly the plane crashed,leaving the pilot dead and the mother survived with her 4 kids. After setting their tents, the mother sadly passed away,. The mother hid the kids bc their step father is abusive so she wanted The 4 kids was left to survived but some scientists took the mother's body and made it into a deer who were walking in 2 legs. As you seen in the cut scene, she was reaching her hand towards the campfire. Trying to reach for her children she only kidnapped them for their safety therefore it was the mom bc they never found her body

the wendigo is just still a myht and legend but the missions we do like saving kids and attacking cultists and staying there for nights is based of a true story I think the rescued kids was told of depression that why the investigators thinks they were hallucinating the wendigo but the cultist was scientist and the missing kids told that the wendigo were the one who captured them and the wendigo was made bc they made the fifth kid a subject and then became a cultist believing that they would not get attacked by the experiment they did they worshiped it and us who was the campers was actually irl the investigators/police just so y'all know the first kid was the easiest bc he was the youngest and the fourth was the hardest bc he was the oldest but they were not actually trapped in those rooms they were hidden in caves by the exeperimented monster that's all I got in my researches and also wendigo was scared of light so they only release it at night but they never feed it they just know how to worship it but the wendigo was never trying to attack u he was just trying to protect the kids in caves but the cultists didn't know that's why when u saved all the kids and it's 99 nights there's a cutscene that he was reaching for the kids

it's not the deer ain't part of the true story the creator decided to put the deer in the story the real story is the missing children and there was a dog protecting them the deer is ture but not in the story but the missing children are part of the true story sooo yea and in the game at the top of the storyline it says some things have changed so yea
