Crazy story, job well done. I think your actions may have saved your lives. The only other thing I’ve heard is to turn backing off the trail the best is on. He might just keep going down his trail. Bear spray next time for sure though😜

this is why I'm ok with just enjoying nature in Manitoba. black bears aren't quite as dangerous as grizzlies. between the bears, cougars, and environmental hazards the mountains kinda scare me

It's incredible how quickly the situation escalated, but their quick thinking and calmness under pressure were key to staying safe. Grizzly encounters can be so unpredictable, but it’s great to hear they made it out unharmed.
