get to know the professors if you can! I got my on campus job bc my professor my first semester asked me if I wanted a job and I said yes.

Be careful, at my college the departments have a communication problem, so follow up with the people you need to, In order to get the contract signed and put into affect. Also check the payment days, at mine students get payed 2 weeks after faculty.
