So what’s the other avenue for the source material dvd covers? I feel like doing it in another way that doesn’t pay homage to where the characters are known for just takes away from the product overall then you are just left with generic boxes with special shoes like most of the adidas collabs.

I think nikes initial run of fantastic four kicks (inv AF1,torch 95s, reed 90s, thing dunks) did it perfect with out being too on the nose if you could even say that about a collection that involved transparent sneakers.They weren’t obviously superhero branded and they were pre social media so almost an IYKYK

Collab will only be good if it’s Nike/Jordan doing a super hero collab cause they always go crazy with the details unlike asics and other brands where they just match the colors

I disagree as a guy who into sneakers and superhero’s/nerd stuff I think it’s fun. I like the randomness of it being blind. I mean I still buy comic books every month and random stuff all the time do I have to much yea probably will I still buy more…. Yes I think it super niche but it’s not like it a general release. But agree the asics kith drop was better but I still will buy. I get it’s not like super creative but people keep still buying Jordan retros. No one is trying to reinvent the wheel.

The issue is the collab focuses on characters and not the creators behind them. Like it should be a collab with well knowm comic creators for marvel and let them help come up with the concept so that we don’t get the same ideas over and over. That’s how comics work after all
