Love spending all of Disability Pride Month in and out of the hospital because the American Healthcare System has absolutely no care in it and routinely profits off of the suffering of disabled and terminally ill people like me. I hate it here. There’s no help available for young people that need round the clock care. I was quite literally told I’m “too young to qualify” as if my age is a cure for the tumors rearranging my internal organs and taking over my body. So people like me are left to suffer alone because not all of us have access to people that can be our caregiver for free. In fact, more often than that, we are being abused by the people we are dependent on. Disabled children are twice as likely to suffer from avu$e in all forms. The system loves to assume that everyone around us will take care of us when everyone around us pays taxes into the programs that are supposed to be helping people like me. But they’re nonexistence. The help does not exist. Not if you’re under the age of 50. Not if you’re deemed too young need help, despite the fact that you are sicker than everybody over the age of 50 that you know. There are no programs to assist young disabled, terminally old people that need help. There isn’t anything in healthcare for people like us at all.
