I've been there. I got accused and I wasn't even in town. I was gone on a business meeting for a week. Again, YOU natural responded like a mother. You stepped up and believed your daughter. Great JOB!!!! I just hate it was a lie and you lose what could have been a great man. He will never forget that experience.

My response would be thank you for telling me the truth, but the damage is already done. You’ve ruined that man’s life, you’ve ruined my life with him. So because you followed after your father, you’re gonna have to deal with the consequences of your actions. I understand that he’s your father and all, but a lie is a lie, and I thought I taught you better than that. You’ve broken my trust and, it’s gonna take a while to rebuild/reestablish that. I never thought that you would do something that would cause this much devastation in anyone’s life especially mine. I love you and I will always love you, but it’s gonna take me some time to trust you again.
