Do your research please . I don't know why the Army has anything to do with that area, perhaps the department of transportation needed some help from the Army Corp of engineers. But no missiles that was created by the united states was no where near the 1920's and Germany was the first to create such arsenal back in the 1940's.

They host hotel flea markets out of there nothing to be worried about they had a haunted maze in there a few years ago also

PRIMARY contaminate is key word. Know of several people that worked there, they have all passed away and mostly from cancer

TCE was also used at the Asheville Superfund Site for CTE if anyone is curious and wants to look at that case up as well as the people who lived around it. The site was cleaned in 2023 but they relocated residents in 2014 so it took that long. Honestly this should be a superfund site too if it isn't already.

Been an issue for decades. They tried to sell it for a while and put the clean up on the buyer but no one would touch it not knowing how to handle the contamination and the actual cost to clear it. Literal barrels of biohazard in the buildings 🤦♀️sitting so long they rusted through and are seeping into the ground. I can't remember exactly how much they estimated it would cost to decontaminate but it was in the millions as it would also include digging into the ground and removing contaminated soil. Everyone on this side of Alamance County has known not to drink the water.

Not many know the real history. Some of my family worked there when it was operating. Doesn't seem like anyone knows there used to be an airstrip where walmart and Clayton homes is now, where they tested and landed planes for the war. They also used it for some of the items they built at Western Electric.

Back in the early 2000s that building hosted the Hospice Flea Market every year. The parking lot across the street has a rail road track section running through it and it too was contaminated...that's why there's just been an empty lot there for years.

it was always military when I was a kid, even in the 90, my family live down the road,hell my parents lived in that trailer park right there were the parking lot was when they first got married
