@fomajustfoma: quick nature getaway 🌲🌿🍃 I had such a wonderful time at Elk Island Retreat — truly one of Alberta’s hidden gems if you’re looking for a camping experience without… well, actually having to rough it. 😂 I stayed in one of their geodomes, and let me just say… chef’s kiss. It’s cute, cozy, and perfect for someone who wants all the vibes of camping without sleeping in a tent or swatting bugs all night. The geodomes are temperature-controlled with air conditioning and a fireplace, which makes them super comfortable no matter the weather. Plus, they’ve got a burner-top grill outside so you can cook up a little something, a picnic table, and a private fire pit for roasting marshmallows or just vibing under the stars. The outhouse (yes, we’re talking about the bathroom!) was clean and actually smelled good — a win in my books. There are also very neat shared showers at the front of the property if you need them. And for those who are into that spa life, there’s a wood-fired oud spa — probably better enjoyed in cooler months, but I still loved it! I can totally see this being the perfect spot for a birthday, friend reunion, or celebration weekend. You can rent multiple domes or cabins and have your own little mini retreat. They even have volleyball nets, soccer space, and an event hall if you’re trying to turn it into a full experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nature escape that doesn’t skimp on comfort. ✨🌲
