I went in wanting to love it, but I hated it, not because of what the right-wingers grumble about, because I don't get on with movies written by Gunn. He's a one-trick pony, and I don't like his brand of humour.

I think the fact that it IS a movie with heart and that's something Marvel & others have lacked for a long time. They've got so desperate to set up the next big thing that they forgot to be just "fun" and have a heart to the story. Plus, Superman is basically about being kind, and that's something a lot of us need, just some kindness in the world

I mean I don't know why this movie is hated because the story is just a timeless pet story about a hairless Sphynx house Cat (Lex) that has to share his home (Metropolis) with a cute golden retriever (Superman) that's getting all the attention. The envious cat creates accidents that are blamed on the dog, until the cat's jealous actions threaten to destroy the house. The nanny cam (Daily Planet) reveals all.

I think this is one of the best superman movies I've seen, it doesn't force him to be super serious, it has made me maybe a bit too hopeful for future DC projects with James Gunn as a director

as a society we need to bring back the love and enjoyment of a solid 3 star movie. movies can be cheesy and silly and feel good, they dont all have to break the mold and be the most transformative experience of all time. not everything needs a 5 hour lore critical video essay analysis to be considered a good bit of media.

Honestly this is the 4th movie incarnation of Superman in my life. I simply don't care anymore. Same with Batman. There are thousands of great stories out there, myths, legends, histories, fantasies...and we get another Superman, another Batman, another Marvel "universe". If it is a remake, a reboot, a redux or a reimagining my $ is staying in my wallet😡

I think the reason some people are calling it the goat is because of the state of the world. I can't speak for anyone else but for me it's been pretty depressing and divisive for a while now. getting to see the strongest super hero ever spending two hours essentially telling us everyone matters and that being good is worth it and to keep trying is resonating. I'm here for it. 😁

I think the movie has stirred a deeper conversation. It's message (Haven't seen it yet, assuming) is one of unapologetically being a good person. The way people bounce off of that says a lot about them, how they respond to the thought that 'Things could be better'. It's rather fascinating to watch, like detox from the current political climate that brings clarity.
