I looked after a neighbours dog and it started limping after an hour. threats from the owner then became a vet visit where (after a ton of tests) they realised the dog was basically throwing a tantrum because it wanted it's owner back.

I took care of an old coworkers two cats one became very sick because of the stress of moving from place to place. That coworker came back and brought it to the humane society( it was adopted a week later. The other cat is still with us living her best life.

sounds exactly what happened to me, except it was my ex's family and they followed a stray, kept her for a while until they found a house. 3 months pass, nothing, 6 months, 1 year..... and now here I am 2 years with a cat I actually didn't want and now can't live without. unfortunately she was never spayed (they told me she was) she was just a teeny baby and hadn't had a hest cycle yet. imagine my surprise 6 months into owning her and she begins to scream in the dead of night.... lol she's not spayed yet (ik ik I'm a terrible pet owner) but she's getting spayed soon luckily she's an indoor girlie and we don't worry too much about it but I won't be leaving her intact I just couldn't do it until now

similar situation but different: had to ask a coworker to take my pet fish for a month to watch him while I was out of town at a funeral. she ends up not telling me until i get back that her roommates dog ate me fish

I looked after my coworker's dogs and her partner had a reactive pit mix and she warned me this dog did not get along with any dog except hers. It's legit the third day I'm dog sitting I've been taking the dogs out separately for ease and while I'm walking the pit their neighbor comes out with this chew toy sized dog trying to be all "no no our dogs are besties" and I insisted "no Brit told me this dog is too reactive please let me go inside and keep your dog away from her" and that's how I got pulled down a concrete flight of stairs and how her dog almost became dinner 🤠 I was also so distressed after that I accidentally locked myself out of her apartment and couldn't get back in until the next day bc my coworker was the only one that could call maintenance

My mom’s friend left her kitten at our house. 4months later, can’t get ahold of her, the cat keeps going into heat, it’s loud, peeing on everything, our cats are ripping its fur out and not letting it use the litter boxes. We had to take it to a shelter before our cats killed it tbh.

this happened to me when I worked at a doggy daycare & my coworker actually said the exact same thing, watch her dog until she finds a new place. that coworker got fired the next day & never reached out to me (I was off work when she got fired). that dog got attached to my stepdad & she's my parents baby ❤ we love our scrappy girl

With how toxic this girl is sounding I wouldn't be surprised if she stole her bfs cat and refused to give it back bc her info is on the microchip. You could maybe try making a Facebook post and hope he or anyone he knows sees it. I've gotten stuck with stray cats and thankfully I had help from an animal rescue but it's really stressful getting stuck with an animal you're not fully prepared to take care of I'm sorry
