Starting seeds doesn’t need to be complicated. Today I am sharing the seed-starting kits that will make gardening life easier. You see in this reel that I am using the Jiffy starter tray, which provides organic peat pellets and is easy to use. Just pour the warm water and wait until it is expanded. Then start sowing seeds. I am sowing some peppers, Zucchini, flowers, and tomatoes. These vegetables are heat-loving plants. The heating mat helps improve germination, especially in peppers, eggplants, and tomatoes. Here are a few things you can do after sowing seeds. 1. Keep the soil/peat pellets moist but not soggy. 2. Check on them daily, and don’t let the soil dry out. 3. Keep the light close to the top of the seedlings, about 2-4 inches away from the light. Seeds need light to germinate. 5. Once the seeds are germinated, turn off the heat mat and remove the seedling dome. This can be a bit tricky since all the seeds don’t germinate simultaneously. I would recommend grouping heat-loving seeds together. Keep the light close to the seedlings; this helps prevent leggy seedlings. 6. Once the seedlings have 2-3 true leaves set or the soil dries out quickly, it’s time to pot up. 7. Again, keeping the soil moist but not soggy and light is still critical. Make sure to adjust it accordingly. I hope you find this reel helpful and hope you all succeed in sowing seeds. Have a great season!
