@invitedinred: Taz is only 3. It’s quite remarkable he can do some of these maneuvers considering the amount of time he’s practiced them. It’s not perfect when you start out. It takes time and consistency.. and also forgiveness to get good at things like this. He’s going to excel in patterns once he’s older. With ground poles in ranch they are usually branches of some sort to make it more ranchy. So I use regular ground poles and small risers to elevate them for practice so then when they are on the ground they are easier and less likely to hit them.

So I watch a lot, of horse, tiktok, and I see a lot of people going to shows and hoping to come first second or third. it makes their horses more valuable as far as bloodlines. what if you're not a winner?Does that also reflect, or is it just a wash?And you move on to the next horse show?

How do you train or ride the, to not bump the poles when they step over them?

for the rope. if you make your loop bigger, grab it about 8 inches away from the hondu, it will swing better. then motion of twirling it all comes from wrist with small amount from the elbow.

The gate with the left hand, is it to give the horse a different(less dominant side) way to move? Or is it more for the rider to move differently(less dominant hand)
