okay so, one of the theatre companies i worked with always announced the cast PUBLICLY. i had a girl like this in my cast, but instead of me getting the lead, she got the lead, and she had to ask me right after cast list was out “are you happy?” in the most mocking tone id ever heard 💔

There was a girl at my high school like this. But it was for cheerleading. She had the audacity to tell me that it would be OK if I didn’t make even though because she cheering since she was a kid I made varsity captain also took over captain for varsity and she barely made it onto jv.

I sand in my school talent show, every class had to submit somone and no one knew I could sing but I just chose to see if I was picked and I was. well, in the end I won but there was another girl my year but different class and she sand every chance she got, in every audition for acting too but she sadly was deaf to singing in key. She had the confidence but not the talent to back it up and as this was our last year at the school I was chosen to sing again for leavers but she was sure they made a mistake and meant to pick her, kept telling me to tell teachers I wasn't her and they mixed us up, cried to the deputy... in the end she was allowed to sing in a threesom which hurt everyone's ears... she really was tonedeaf, the worst case of it I've ever seen, sadly her mom was one of our local GPS and had obviously filled her head with undeserved confidence as she was so stuck up, overly confident, a bully and sadly her crush also did stalk me the whole time at the school so I think me winning and then being chosen to sing instead of her with her crush clapping first and loudly was the worst ending for her but I was the shy kid who never did anything like this so I won't let myself feel any guilt at the bully who litterally thought she was the prettiest, amazing actor and singer who stalked my stalker and litterally secually assaulted him at any given chance. if anything reality that she isn't always going to be the best hopefully helped her as she scared alot of people away with her confidence of being the best at everything and that's a high standard she will lose sometimes where won something for the first time in my life after taking a chance,the opposite of my normal choise which reminds me to try to do so when comfortable enough.

Or you did get the part but you are the last person to find out. We just did Hairspray and emails started going out at 11 am. All of my friends were telling me what they got but I hadn’t gotten anything(So I was freaking out) lol. At 4 pm I got a phone call that I was Tracy! I may have fallen in the ground and cried. It’s on video. lol!

Controversial opinion, when auditions come around the number one consideration for a role should be an understudy because I understudies need to know 2 tracks or more.

hey, I know you might not see this but I'm a girl in highschool who really feels like I want to pursue musical theatre as a career. but, I'm scared of not having stable income or it backfiring, I don't want to be a failure but it's my passion, it's what makes me feel whole. I quit the theatre group I was in because one of these kids *became* the director when ours retired. From then on no-one got any good parts, he would bring in his friends from outside the group for main parts and the rest of the cast were just ensemble all the time.
