I hate that racism is so openly practiced among people right now. I don’t know why, but it makes me feel so sad. It makes me want to shrink into myself and stay away, even though it hasn’t happened to me. Watching people act like this makes me lose trust in humanity. I feel like many people are ignorant and just reacting blindly, and that makes me lose faith in the world. Living among this kind of mindset makes me feel depressed. I know it might sound silly, but I swear to God this issue bothers me so much.

To the people saying the climate crisis makes this disaster new, yes it is, but we still simply take action and fix it. Look up the CFC emission crisis in the 70s to 90s. Things WERE done to fix it. We just need to do it again for the other things affecting our climate.

Easy to focus on “character and virtue” as a stoic when you have a financial safety net and social status like Seneca lol. It’s like a modern day influencer living in a giant mansion saying that people need to focus on the simple things in life and pretend to be poor for a day lol.

I do actually. I genuinely believe we live in the first generation in human history when environmental collapse is threatening civilization. About 2000 we really had a good chance of keeping thing under control. Now we’ll get huge migration, disease, extreme weather etc. It’s quite a unique psychological challenge
