My husband has been a 1099 before (independent contractor). Everything she is saying is true. You get to pay all the taxes, and the company gets all the write-offs. No insurance. No workmans comp. Nothing.

Sonic this passes, and it almost definitely will. You could get sick or injured, lose your job. Can't get Unemployment but also can get public assistance unless you work 80hrs/mo. but you can't because you're sick or injured

I am a Ip in the healthcare field and we have to handle everything are selves. It is has some perks too it but not much. I make my own schedule and etc. I just put money aside every check for taxes and etc..

Well as a contract worker in healthcare all I see is this flooding that market. We can cancel our own contract or they can cancel us for any reason. Yet I am getting paid a lot more as a contractor. You do not want people who are not vested in the community being the only workers in that hospital. The cost to hire me will be passed onto you. And many contracts do not care about their work. This is not good.
