@justinp.etn: I Ran into my College Professor from Fashion School! I had tears in my eyes today when I ran into my past professor Linda Cohen from the fashion Institute of technology. In 2014 I gave up my basketball dreams at the end of high school to step into the fashion industry, and I had no idea where to start. There were many moments where I wanted to quit, there were many times I was turned away, and I even had moments where I wondered if this would all be worth it. I was a hardheaded student at first, and I tried to take shortcuts at certain moments early on. But my professor, Linda Cohan pulled me aside and said “if you want to make it far as a Independent Fashion Designer, here is what you need to do/focus on and you have to get serious.” She gave me so many insights on how to navigate within the fashion industry, but most of all she made me realize I can become a successful designer, even though I was a business major. Life has a interesting way of showing you that you are on the right path. After a decade, I’m able to feel a huge sense of relief because I ran into an important role model who told me I can get to where I am if I stayed focused.. I was just a kid from Brooklyn & Long Island who had Basketball dreams and then I went on to receive my Bachelor’s Degree of Science from the # 1 Fashion School in the World in Production Managment in fashion related industries/product development.
