I honestly don’t think you have any malicious intent with whatever negative opinions you voice in your reviews, I actually think people like you that can coherently synthesize the very valid criticisms a lot of people probably have and don’t/can’t voice is really important. Even when people don’t realize that’s how they feel, putting a voice to it is a great way to signal to studios that audiences DO notice lazy or otherwise uninspired filmmaking. However—and I had this thought while watching your initial review of F4–I think in this digital age, it’s really easy for people’s opinions to be skewed by what others have to say, and that’s the major gripe I have with your and similar content. Seeing your review before watching the movie makes it difficult for people to form their own objective opinion and have that real, raw first impression. It can sort of sour an otherwise enjoyable time because you’re experiencing it within the context of what someone else had to say. And I don’t think most people even realize this is happening—and some think it doesn’t happen for them—but it’s much easier and less energy intensive for the brain to base its opinions on what it’s already ingested rather than generating its own fully independent thoughts. So hearing what someone disliked about a film can subconsciously skew the perception of what should be a totally new experience. I’m aware of that, so I avoid literally any review like the plague before seeing a movie, but I don’t think a lot of people are. Personally, I think your content is great and rather important, but I think posting a spoiler-free review hours after a film’s release just makes it harder for people to just enjoy something they otherwise might. Just because it doesn’t spoil the film’s plot, doesn’t mean it isn’t spoiling the experience. Perhaps waiting a bit or including some spoilers would incentivize people to watch the movie, then come back and see what you have to say. Regardless, I do enjoy your content and I value your opinions so please don’t take this as hate.

For me, what makes you stand out from other content creators, is how insightful you are. I actually find your commentary very educational. In both your positive and negative reviews. Even when i don’t agree with you or it doesn’t necessarily change my personal opinion on a movie, you still give me new perspectives that I never would’ve thought about. And not in a way where it feels like you’re forcing your opinion onto others. You’re always very mindful of that too and it’s appreciated. So thank you and please keep doing what you’re doing!

(not that you do, but how the comment framed it, disliking a genre is valid but just don't review that genre. but appreciate that your reviews are fair for each movie
